Corporate Citizenship is a global management consulting company specializing in corporate responsibility and sustainability. We have around 50 people in five locations around the globe. We advise companies on their strategies for responsible and sustainable business. We are one of the longest-standing specialist, global consulting firms and work with a wide range of companies from global leaders to those starting out on their corporate responsibility journeys.

We are now hiring a new Senior Researcher to join our busy team in New York. All applicants must have unrestricted right to work in the location to which they apply. This exciting role will support client projects around the globe by conducting detailed research and data mining, trend analysis, qualitative and quantitative research, numerical analysis and then summarizing, and analyzing the information across a range of corporate responsibility and sustainability areas. The candidates should be highly effective in capturing, analyzing and presenting information on a variety of subjects to effectively meet clients’ needs. The candidate should also be able to understand the outcomes needed for a client and help turn data into knowledge and recommendations. They may have contact with clients and therefore be comfortable in presenting and engaging with business professionals. Senior Researchers contribute to the maintenance of good client relationships and help identify opportunities to generate income.

Essential skills and experience

The successful candidate will have

 1.     One to three (1- 3) years of relevant experience working in corporate responsibility or sustainability, ideally with experience in-house or in business consulting.

2.     Experience in research and evaluation with strong data mining and analytical skills.

3.     Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail.

4.     Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills.

5.     Ability to work on multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines.

6.     Good team player who is able to effectively communicate and build working relationships, including internationally.

7.     Critical thinking, fast learner, proactive, and flexible.

8.     Bachelor’s degree in related disciple.

Responsibilities of the position are:

 Client Delivery

  • Project-related research that requires using discretion and independent judgment to identify accurate and relevant information from company websites, articles, reports, and third-party websites:
    Conducting detailed research on a wide range of corporate responsibility and sustainability topics, companies, and organizations.
  • Gathering data collection and performing analysis – for example, benchmarking by collecting and comparing information on the corporate responsibility/sustainability targets and performance of a selection of organizations using Excel.
              Interaction with clients:
    Participating in some client-facing activities, such as interviews, focus groups, and workshops, under the guidance of project directors.
              Project management:
    Liaising with business clients, for example on the telephone as part of a role coordinating a project.
    Helping to organize internal and external meetings, workshops and interviews.
    Creating and delivering to project management plans for client projects.
    Providing some administrative support to project directors (e.g. setting up an online survey).
              Development of final deliverables for client meeting:
    Drafting reports in Word for different business audiences, using simple language to explain sometimes complex ideas.
    Preparing presentations in PowerPoint, including distilling information down to create clear and compelling slides.


Business development

  • Background research to help identify opportunities to secure new income for the business:
      Using discretion and independent judgment to identify accurate and relevant information from company websites, articles, and reports.
    Providing recommendations on how to support company needs.
               Development of proposals for potential clients:
    Drafting responses to RFPs in Word and PowerPoint, outlining our understanding of the company’s needs and outlining how Corporate Citizenship can provide support.


Thought Leadership

    Development of publishable content to support Corporate Citizenship’s marketing efforts:

    • Writing your own independent ideas into punchy and publishable blogs and articles.
    • Contributing to the development of webinars and research papers.
